Henry Ferguson Hudson Burke (aka Slade) is doing great! He's quickly become the center of our family (even our 18 & 22 yr old sons had to come home for the weekend to meet him!), our 14 yr old's baseball team, our 11yr old's girlfriends and some of our niece and nephews ;-p. We'll be taking him up to the cabin in 2 weeks, where he'll no doubt love the attention he gets from more family, several labs and the great outdoors.

The vet has pronounced him very healthy (and adorable) and he's even learning basic commands (at a much faster rate than our Berner, bless Murphy's heart). We have our next 2 visits with her planned already, and as he appeared to love the vet as much as Murphy did (and even the cat does) that should continue to go smoothly.

Our cat, Pfeffer, with whom Henry is in love, has some reservations about his new-found friend. The blossoming of this relationship provides us with much comic relief, complete with our imaginings of their conversations with each other (Cat: "For Heaven's Sake, someone tell this furry beast to stop licking me like he's Momma Cat, and get me a towel STAT" Puppy: "I love you I love you I love you").

The minute that we saw Henry on Petfinder.com, we knew he was supposed to be a member of our family. Thank you, again, for helping make that a reality.
