I thought you'd like an update on Lacie.  I know you are probably thinking about her...she IS very endearing.  She's making herself at home in our family.  She's picking out some favorite spots in each room.  Hank is getting along with her well...keeping an eye on her too.  She started barking the first night she was here...we were so proud.  She's taking some cues from Hank as well, chiming in when he starts.  She is sleeping on her bed in our bedroom at night.  She went to the vet yesterday (57 lbs), and we did a heartworm test & got her meds for the year.  I got another fecal check too, just to be sure.  Both tests were negative.  I gave my vet a copy of all her records.  Her stool is getting harder on the meds.  We got her food on Friday; we'll keep her on the blue buffalo.

She had a playful spurt on Sat. morning.  She tried play-bowing with Hank after their morning walk, and he was too tired.  He laid down, and she launched herself on top of him.  It was pretty funny, but he was NOT amused.  He growled and sounded fierce (while still laying down).  She took the instruction though.  She wouldn't even walk near him for 15 minutes.  Then she was back to normal.  She hasn't tried launching on him again, though she is trying to play.  I'll take her to the park with some playmates after it's safe for her to be more active.  We setup her crate yesterday, and she actually seems to like it.  She hung out in there during the day & we put her in while we went to dinner.  She did complain a little about it (I stood outside the garage door to listen).  We were only gone for a couple of hours, and when we got home, Hank & her were both sleeping (she in the crate & him on his bed in the same room).  I was surprised when she used it again to sleep in after we got home...she followed Hank when he went for a nap.  And then late last night, something startled her...she started barking for a few minutes & then went into her crate.  I had to really encourage her to get out of it to come to bed.  I hope she does use it as her safe spot.

We are both so HAPPY with our new little girl.  Thank you so much for taking care of her until she found us.  I'll send some pix later.

Thanks,
Heather
